Ad copy is due by February 10, 2017.To use the service of Parkway Playhouse’s Graphic Designer to create your playbill ad (at an additional fee of $35 per new ad, $10 if it's an update to an ad that was used last year), please contact Britt Kaufmann at email@example.com.
What does "camera-ready artwork" mean?
This does not mean that you send us a photo of your ad. There are lots of guidelines specified in the Playbill Ad Guidelines document, however, suffice it to say that if you send us a PDF or a JPEG file in the proper size, you will be fine.
Sending a Word Document, or a Publisher file will not work. So, no files that end in .doc or .pub.
What is the proper size and what does that have to do with dpi?
When you talk about images, you first specify the size of the ad by how many inches it takes up on the page. For example, 5" x 8".
Next, you need to specify how many dots per square inch (dpi). For a high quality print document, this needs to be 300 or higher. If you've ever seen an ad where the photographs look fuzzy, or the edges appear to be made out of tiny squares instead of smooth, it is likely caused by having too low of a dpi. You can't simply stretch a too-small image into a bigger size and retain the clean resolution.
So, if you want your ad to appear clean and crisp, make sure you have a high resolution or high dpi. (As a point of reference, images on the web only need 72 dpi to appear crisp, so what will look nice on a computer screen will not necessarily print well.)
Well, now I'm freaked out that my ad won't look right. Can you help me?
Yes. To use the service of Parkway Playhouse’s Graphic Designer to create your playbill ad (at an additional fee of $35 per new ad, $10 if it's an update to an ad that was used last year), please contact Britt Kaufmann at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have all materials to her by February 3.
If I send in an ad that isn't the right size or won't print well, will you tell me?
Of course, but please do your best to make this process smooth and easy.
What I really want is my business to appear on the posters for a particular show. How do I do that?
Sponsors receive special recognition far beyond just having their business logos on the show posters! Contact Kristen Livengood at email@example.com or click here for more details about our Business Sponsorship opportunities.
