Synopsis

In the world of Truvy’s local homegrown beauty salon, six very different women come together to share their secrets, fears and love for one another. 

From weddings to divorces, babies to funerals, new beginnings to happy endings, they share each moment in their lives with grace, determination and perfectly coiffed hair.

The celebrated Southern classic of family and friendship; this is the story of a group of strong popularly adapted for the screen, this is a play with lots of hair, heart, and hilarity.

Hair, heart, and humor!  Tickets are now on sale for Parkway Playhouse's first mainstage production Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias opens on May 7 and continues through May 21.

"There's no such thing as natural beauty!" Beauticians Truvy (Burnsville's Jenny Pearson Martin (l)) and Annelle (Avery County's Myra McCoury (r)) test out new techniques in Parkway Playhouse's  highly anticipated production of Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, opening on May 7 and continuing through May 21 at Parkway Playhouse.

"It takes some effort to look like this".  Parkway Playhouse's production of the universally popular play about the bonds friendship, Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling runs May 7-21.
