This rip-roaring farce about the making of the classic Hollywood epic, Gone With the Wind takes place in 1938 in the office of movie mogul David O. Selznick. With production halted, the director fired, impatient actors demanding answers, and the studio president on “hold”, Selznick gathers director Victor Fleming and “script doctor” Ben Hecht, who has never read the book, in his office in order to re-write the script in a 5-day marathon creative session. With his reputation on the line and nothing but a stockpile of bananas and peanuts, Selznick has precious little time to rescue his pet project. Based on “slightly” true events, this funny and moving insight into the Golden Age of Hollywood has been a hit since its premiere at Chicago’s famed Goodman Theatre. Moonlight and Magnolias contains some adult language.
