The Parkway Playhouse is a small professional theatre company. Professional actors, directors, and designers may be jobbed-in for a production or may be hired for several productions over the course of the season. All artistic personnel are hired as independent contractors. Members of Actor's Equity are hired using a Guest Artist Agreement. Pre-professional college students may apply for an internship with the theatre. The Parkway Playhouse also holds community auditions in late March. This audition takes place in Burnsville, North Carolina and is specifically for community members and children. The Parkway Playhouse is committed to non-traditional casting and encourages actors of all backgrounds to audition.

Auditions for adult actors for singing/acting roles in
SOUND OF MUSIC and SHE LOVES ME and other scheduled productions for the 2008 season. Actors should be prepared to sing/dance and read from selected scenes in the script. No additional preparation is required.

Children between the ages of 8-16 interested in being considered should be prepared to sing, dance, and read from the script. No additional preparation is required.

PROFESSIONAL ACTORS:
Professional actors who have not worked at the Parkway Playhouse before who did not attend UPTA's or the WNC Theatre Auditions should submit a headshot/resume with a cover letter detailing when you would be available to come to Burnsville for an audition in March of 2008. Appointments are scheduled based on staff availabilityour. Actors unable to travel to Burnsville may send an audition via video. Please contact the theatre prior to sending an audition on video for submission information. You should send your information no later than March 15 to schedule an appointment. MUSICIANS:
The Parkway Playhouse is always seeking musicians for its orchestra. To be considered for an orchestral position, please send a note of interest with your contact information and availability on weekends and evenings between June and early August to the above address or email info@parkwayplayhouse.
DIRECTORS/MUSIC DIRECTORS/CHOREOGRAPHERS:
The Parkway Playhouse hires directors, choreographers, and music directors by referral only. Directors are generally invited to the Parkway Playhouse a year or more in advance. Please send a resume, recent reviews, and references to the above address or email to info@parkwayplayhouse.com.
PLAYWRIGHTS:
The Parkway Playhouse produces a very specific kind of theatre. Our work is accessible to a wide demographic and actor-driven. Playwrights interested in having their work considered should send a resume, reviews, and a 10-15 page sample to the above address or email it to info@parkwayplayhouse.com.
DESIGNERS/STAGE MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS/PRODUCTION STAFF:
The Parkway Playhouse hires a variety of technical craftspersons and designers for each production.
